Physipro Celebrates 20 years with a New Wheelchair

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Sherbrooke-based Physipro has launched the IXEL, an innovative model of wheelchair. The company is gearing up to target the US market and consolidate its European presence with specialized products for people with reduced mobility. The IXEL's special feature is total adjustability. Its aluminum structure is also very light, weighing in at only 35 pounds (16 kg).

Physipro's wheelchairs and walkers are sold as far away as South Korea. Even though the company stands out for its innovativeness, it can't do everything on its own. To fill that gap, Physipro has entered into partnerships to ensure its continued growth outside Quebec. CEO Mario Ouellette takes prides in heading up a company whose custom designs and innovations stand out from the rest. The company also distinguishes itself by performing every step of the design process in-house at its workshops in Sherbrooke-with a team of cabinetmakers, welders, and sewers.
